The new Catalog Blocks module can display your entire category structure with subcategories in a single module. All top categories can be displayed as open blocks or tabs or accordions, and each block loads the available sub-categories in a Catalog Menu type style. Optionally you can assign a Products module inside each block, relevant to each category. (Edit or remove this info text from Journal > Layouts > All Departments...).
